Description

Casanova Ortrugo is an indigenous white grape variety from the province of Piacenza that has been vinified in purity since the 1970s.
The clayey and sandy soils enhance the characteristics of the fruit, which gives a typical wine capable of capturing the attention of those who love products with great versatility.
Flavour and sweetness, freshness and the fact that it is well-structured, give a balance of hardness and smoothness, shades and highlights to the quality of this wine.
Country of origin: Italy
Appellation of origin: Ortrugo Colli Piacentini Colli Piacentini DOC
Type: Dry White Sparkling Wine
Varietal: Ortrugo
Volume: 0.75 litres
Production method:
  • Martinotti Alcohol: 11 % vol
  • Residual sugar: 13 g/l
  • Acidity: 6.5 g/l
  • Recommended serving temperature: 8/10°C.
Tasting notes:
  • Colour: Pale yellow with greenish reflections
  • Bouquet: Fruity notes of white peach, golden apple and apricot, denoting a delicious floral note leading to a finish of herbaceous hints and hints of minerality.
  • Palate: The very present effervescence prepares the taste buds for the marvellous fruity perfumes and vegetal notes. The elegance of this wine is underpinned by a touch of warmth and the balance between flavour, freshness and subtle hints of sweetness. All this is integrated into a light and pleasant almond finish.
Pairing:
  • It is perfect as an aperitif.
  • It is ideal with assorted Italian dishes or fish appetisers.
  • Excellent with light side dishes and vegetable soups.
  • Pairs well with meat main courses.
  • Thanks to its versatility it goes well with international cuisine.
In 1938, grandfather Otello Ceci ran one of the most famous trattorie in the lower Po wine-growing area, just outside Parma.
Here, savouring the typical dishes of the Parmesan tradition, the Messinesi tasted the famous Lambrusco that Otello produced from the best grapes of the local producers.
His sons, Bruno and Giovanni, were the first to realise that this Lambrusco deserved a great success: in the 1960s, the tavern was transformed into a wine cellar.
Today, his grandchildren Alessandro, Maria Teresa, Maria Paola, Elisa and Chiara run a family-run company in his spirit, but exporting wine all over the world, helping to define a new standard for Lambrusco's recognition.
The price shown does not include the 50 bani fee to guarantee the return of the packaging.
