Otello Ceci Nero di Lambrusco Nero di Lambrusco is the wine that breaks the rules; it is the power of the artist.
It is an idea, a promise, a pact. In this wine there are all the classic Lambrusco notes but also surprising notes.
This is where the journey into the excitement of discovery begins, where depth and delicacy is the way to showcase the art of this wine.
It is made from 100% Lambrusco Maestri grapes with low temperature maceration for 5 to 7 days.
It won the Cinque Grappoli award in the Bibenda Guide 2023 best wines of Italy.

Tasting notes:

  • Colour: Deep ruby red
  • Aroma: Intense, sinuous. Fruity notes are reminiscent of cherries and wild berries such as blackberries and strawberry. Subtle floral notes of violets accompany the enchanting spicy and intense mineral flavours.
  • Flavour: Surprising and satisfying. Delicious balance between freshness and good tannic texture. The intense nature of the aromas is confirmed by the flavours which are enhanced by long keeping. That's a promise kept.

  • Otello Ceci is a wine able to complement a wide range of culinary delicacies by varying the serving temperature.
  • It is ideal for pairing with dishes that express a prevalent richness such as traditional Italian dishes.
  • It pairs well with well-structured pasta and risotto, as well as with medium-aged cheeses or grilled meats.
  • It is also able to express itself perfectly as a meditation wine.

In 1938, grandfather Otello Ceci ran one of the most famous trattorie in the lower Po wine-growing area, just outside Parma.
Here, savouring the typical dishes of the Parmesan tradition, the Messinesi tasted the famous Lambrusco that Otello produced from the best grapes of the local producers.
His sons, Bruno and Giovanni, were the first to realise that this Lambrusco deserved a great success: in the 1960s, the tavern was transformed into a wine cellar.
Today, his grandchildren Alessandro, Maria Teresa, Maria Paola, Elisa and Chiara run a family-run company in his spirit, but exporting wine all over the world, helping to define a new standard for Lambrusco's recognition.
