Pectin is a food additive with the role of emulsifier, stabiliser and thickening agent, naturally present in fruits, especially apples, oranges and quinces. For industrial use, pectins are obtained from apples and oranges. The product is presented as a flavourless powder. Quantity: 500 gr. Use: It is used according to the quantities prescribed in recipes, especially in fruit-based products, for thickening and gelling: concentrated juices, nectars, jams, jellies, marmalades. It can also be used as a solvent for other food additives.Method of use: Stir in the pectin and sugar at 40ºC, stirring vigorously. Bring to the boil. Add acid after activation.
